Mister G Hosts 3rd Annual Halloween Fiesta Costume Party for Families

Mister G Hosts 3rd Annual Halloween Fiesta Costume Party for Families:
Academy of Music Theatre, Sunday, October 26th at 11:00 am

Northampton, MA – Mister G (Ben Gundersheimer), a 2014 Latin GRAMMY nominee, who has been dubbed a “kid-friendly, bilingual rock star” by The Washington Post and “irresistible” by People magazine, will be giving performing his third annual Halloween Fiesta concert on October 26th at the Academy of Music Theatre on 274 Main St. in Northampton.  Showtime is 11:00 am.  Children (and parents) are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.  The previous two Halloween Fiesta concerts have drawn hundreds of families from the Pioneer Valley and beyond to sing and dance along to Mister G hits like “Ghosts and Goblins,” “Chocolalala,” and “Sneaky Chihuahua.”

This year’s Halloween Fiesta will also feature music from his 2014 release, The Bossy E, the second in a series of albums that aim to reconnect kids with their creativity and love of learning. In addition to writing all the songs and playing many of the instruments, Ben also recorded, mixed and produced The Bossy E at Black Bear, his recording studio in Whately, MA.
He’s joined on the album by legendary GRAMMY award-winning saxophonist Charles Neville (Neville Brothers), Senegalese superstar Massamba Diop (Baaba Maal), Rani Arbo, Tony Vacca and a chorus of local children.  Recipient of the first song-writing scholarship ever awarded by Berklee College of Music, Ben wrote the original songs on The Bossy E as a follow-up to his 2013 Spanish language release, ABC Fiesta.

This past summer, Mister G kicked off a national tour for The Bossy E headlining shows at major venues such as the Hard Rock CafĂ© in Philadelphia, Madison Square Park in New York City, Strathmore Music Center in Washington, DC and the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. The Bossy E is currently a first-round entrant on the GRAMMYs in the Best Children’s Album category.
Named one of the “Best Live Bands for Kids and Families,” Mister G performs internationally around the US, Latin America and Europe. When not on tour, he lives locally and has deep roots in the Pioneer Valley. A graduate of Amherst College and the M.Ed program at Smith College, Mister G (aka Ben Gundersheimer) was inspired to write the songs for his first album, Pizza for Breakfast, by his former elementary school students at the Smith College Campus School.  The Halloween Fiesta will be sponsored by the Northampton Arts Council, Sunnyside Child Care Center, Baystate Medical Practices Pioneer Valley Family Medicine, Hilltown Families, WRSI, Wohl Dentistry, Baystate Reference Laboratories, Core Solutions, Baystate Radiology and Imaging, Lander Grinspoon Academy, Magpie Pizza, and Hope and Olive.

Tickets for this event are $8 for children and $10 for adults, and may be purchased online at www.academyofmusictheatre.com or at the Box Office.  Hundreds of tickets are also donated to Northampton Public Schools and local nonprofits, including the Northampton Survival Center, Northampton Parents Center and the International Language Institute.  For more information on Mister G and the Halloween Fiesta please visit: www.mistergsongs.com
