The Northampton Arts Council is a city board and a non-profit organization whose goal is to support and promote the arts in Northampton. Originally created as a Local Arts Lottery Council, it began its work by administering a grants program in which proceeds from a state lottery are distributed to local artists, arts groups, and public schools.

25th Anniversary Celebration Spotlighting "Artists as Activists"

A Conversation about "Artists as Activists" at 8:00 pm, with Gina Belafonte, Ellen Meeropol, and Erin McKeown, moderated by Jenn Meeropol

A short film with salutes from Angela Davis, Holly Near, and many of the other artists, activists, and allies who have helped us reach this milestone

followed by

A 9:30 concert by Erin McKeown, with opening by A Besere Velt (A Better World) Yiddish Chorus

Thanks to generous sponsorship from The Puffin Foundation Ltd., general admission tickets will be $25 (student/low income $15). A limited number of $125 sponsor tickets will also be available. All tickets will go on sale later this summer.
