The Northampton Arts Council is a city board and a non-profit organization whose goal is to support and promote the arts in Northampton. Originally created as a Local Arts Lottery Council, it began its work by administering a grants program in which proceeds from a state lottery are distributed to local artists, arts groups, and public schools.

2 PUBLIC ART OPPORTUNITIES

CALL TO ARTISTS: REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
DEADLINE: MONDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2015



1.     Chinese Zodiac, Year of the Monkey – The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy is seeking proposals from artists to create engaging public art around the 2016 Chinese Zodiac, Year of the Monkey, as part of an ongoing series in Chinatown Park in downtown Boston.  All professional artists residing in the contiguous United States may apply. 2.   “THE LOCAL” is a request for artwork proposals from locally-based Massachusetts artists on behalf of The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy. The Greenway is seeking up to five artists to be selected to situate site-specific artworks for 6-12 months beginning in spring 2016 that will collectively, physically, and/or experientially unite the segmented parks and connect the communities along the park system. Project budgets will range from $5,000 - $10,000, and are inclusive of all costs, including installation/de-installation, site restoration, transportation, permits and artist fees. Artists will be asked to develop a line itemized budget as part of their proposal submission. Deadline for receipt of materials is Monday, December 14, 2015.
