The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

2 PUBLIC ART OPPORTUNITIES 
The Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston, Massachusetts 

CALL TO ARTISTS: REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
DEADLINE: MONDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2015



1.     Chinese Zodiac, Year of the Monkey – The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy is seeking proposals from artists to create engaging public art around the 2016 Chinese Zodiac, Year of the Monkey, as part of an ongoing series in Chinatown Park in downtown Boston.  All professional artists residing in the contiguous United States may apply. Deadline for receipt of materials is Monday, December 14, 2015.  The artist budget for this project is $18,000 not inclusive of a $4,000 artist stipend.  To see the full RFP and learn how to submit your work for consideration or to find more information about the site and the project, please CLICK HERE.  
2.   “THE LOCAL” is a request for artwork proposals from locally-based Massachusetts artists on behalf of The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy. The Greenway is seeking up to five artists to be selected to situate site-specific artworks for 6-12 months beginning in spring 2016 that will collectively, physically, and/or experientially unite the segmented parks and connect the communities along the park system. Project budgets will range from $5,000 - $10,000, and are inclusive of all costs, including installation/de-installation, site restoration, transportation, permits and artist fees. Artists will be asked to develop a line itemized budget as part of their proposal submission. Deadline for receipt of materials is Monday, December 14, 2015.
