The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

30th Annual Green River Festival this Weekend

July 8, 9 & 10th on the grounds of Greenfield Community College

The Green River Festival celebrates thirty years with a spectacular lineup of over 40 acts on three stages, the best in local food, beer and wine, handmade crafts, a dance tent, a wide array of kid's activities, and hot air balloon rides and a balloon glow, for Western Massachusetts' largest outdoor event of the summer. This is the only music festival in the country that features hot air balloons.

Featuring: Tedeschi Trucks Band, Dawes, Shakey Graves, Shovels & Rope, The Felice Brothers, NRBQ, Los Lobos, North Mississippi Allstars, Peter Wolf, Margo Price, and local heroes And The Kids, Winterpills, Mal Devisa, Mikey Sweet and more.
