August 6-13, 2016
The tinydance project is expanding its annual “tiny tour” of Northampton, heading to Amherst and Easthampton as well as Northampton and Florence. Presenting its newest dance theatre work, still we climb, tinydance collaborators will tow the 4’ by 8’ stage by bicycle to performances, sing their own accompaniment, and continue their commitment to offering ultra-low tech community events, free for audience members, in outdoor, public spaces.
In addition to fourteen performances during the tour, the company invites audience members to join the bike rides to venues, and to participate in discussion forums after each performance. Two performances will be followed by community potlucks. More information is available at www.tinydanceproject.com and on the company’s Facebook page.
The 2016 tiny tour is supported by Full Circle Bike Shop, Craig Della Penna of The Murphys Realtors, Sugar Maple Trailside Inn, Tandem Bagel Company, Pedal People, and Look Park. The tour is also supported in part by the Amherst Arts Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
