Connect with Art opening

A one day workshop to be held on Saturday, October 1st will bring ten Holyoke area artists together with young students who attend the Girls Inc. afterschool and summer camp programs. The workshop will take place from 10 o’clock until noon in the ballroom of Holyoke City Hall. The artists work in a range of media including painting, photography, fiber arts, and grafitti art. Each artist will be paired with a small group of girls and will share the work they do, their inspiration, and skills through art-making activities.

Following the workshop an exhibition will be mounted at the Paper City Studios Gallery in Holyoke. Work from each of the participating artists will be on display, along with work created by the students at the workshop. Community art-making activities will be offered at the Gallery Opening on Friday, October 7th from five - eight o’clock.

These events are being offered by Plunge Arts in partnership with Girls Inc. Holyoke.
They are possible due to grants and support from the Carlos Vega Fund, Paper City Studios, Dick Blick Art, Zea Mays Print Studios, the City of Holyoke, and Whole Foods Markets Hadley.
