Northampton Rotary is hosting an Art Auction Fundraiser and is seeking local artists to donate all or part of the proceeds of items up for auction. Pieces valued over $300 will be auctioned live from 7pm to 9pm and items under $300 will be part of a silent auction during the preview from 6pm to 7pm on Thursday March 30th at the Hotel Northampton.
The proceeds from auctioned items will be divided between the artist and Northampton Rotary. The auctioneer will not be asking for a percentage as long as at least 50% of the proceeds are offered to Rotary as a charitable contribution. This means the artist will earn up to 50% of the final bid depending on their %contribution and 50-100% of the proceeds will go to Northampton Rotary to fund various service projects for our community. Reserve may be set by the artist and may be subject to revision by the auctioneer.
Service projects of Northampton Rotary benefit children from low income families in the greater Northampton area. In the past, Rotary has supplied winter coats and school supplies for school children, partnered in fundraising to benefit the Children's Advocacy Center https://northwesternda.org/childrens-advocacy-center., provided meals and gifts from Santa to kids from needy families at an anual Christmas party, and funded "Camperships" to send kids to scouting camp who can't afford to attend. Northampton Rotary is also one of the few clubs with a standing Rotary Youth Exchange program which provides opportunities for high school students to study abroad.
