Northampton Jazz Workshop features saxophonist Felipe Salles

WHAT: Northampton Jazz Workshop features saxophonist Felipe Salles
WHEN: Tuesday, September 4th, 7:30 to 8:30PM followed by an open jazz jam session until 10:30 PM
WHERE: The City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA

As has been tradition for several years now, marking the beginning of the new academic year we welcome our good friend saxophonist Felipe Salles as our guest soloist. Besides being a wonderfully accomplished jazz player, Felipe is also a dedicated educator and a prolific composer. In early 2018 Felipe became a Guggenheim Foundation Composition Fellow and a recording of his latest large scale composition, The Lullaby Project, is now available for sale.

Felipe always uses this opportunity to bring many of his music students from UMASS to join in at the end of the concert set making the jam session especially exciting. After the first week of the semester the students get involved with their ensemble practices so this is the one opportunity each year to bring them all together at the Workshop. Always a nice night so hope you can join us.
