The Northampton Arts Council is an organization whose goal is to support and promote the arts in Northampton. Originally created as a Local Arts Lottery Council, it began its work by administering a grants program in which proceeds from a state lottery are distributed to local artists, arts groups, and public schools.

Northampton Jazz Workshop features the Green Street Quintet


WHAT: Northampton Jazz Workshop features the Green Street Quintet
WHEN: Tuesday, September 11th, 7:30 to 8:30PM followed by an open jazz jam session until 10:30 PM
WHERE: The City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA

This week we once again present our own resident quintet that includes Don Anderson on trumpet, Jason Robinson on sax, George Kaye on bass, Paul Arslanian on piano and in Jon's place, Bob Weiner on drums. I am personally excited to be premiering a new work of mine, composed in collaboration with Kimaya Diggs who penned the lyrics for the work. Kimaya will be joining us on the first number to perform this piece entitled "The Dream". As in the past, we will also be playing tunes written or arranged by all members of he quintet.

10/23 - Greg Abate on sax and flute
10/30 - Gary Smulyan on bari
