The largest Smith College senior studio art class on record brings you 28 Faces, 23 Spaces. 28 Faces, 23 Spaces brings together a variety of artworks: from oil painting, printmaking and digital collage to video art, sculptural installations and multimedia pieces. The senior studio class framed their fall 2018 semester around the broad theme of “work.” Students were asked to not only create but also examine, orient, and possibly re-conceptualize their artistic practice, continuously asking the question “what is work?” 28 Faces, 23 Spaces is the culmination of a semester of figuring out “what works.”

28 Faces, 23 Spaces features the work of: Abigail Pechman, Alana Kepler, Arabia Simeon, Ashley Aviles, Asia Littell, Bailey Whitney, Caitlin Blanding, Cassidy Lewis, Dana Smith, Echo Zhang, Ella Perkins, Ella Prince, Haley Peterson, Isabel Cordova, Isley Gagnon, Jasmine Olivarez, Julia Xu, Julia Sabbagh, Julie Kim, Katie Christensen, Lauren Mitchell, Lena Gruber. Please join us for the opening reception on December 7th, from 6:30 to 8:00pm, held in the Janotta and Oresman Galleries, located in the Brown Fine Arts Center at Smith College. Refreshments will be served. The show will be on view from December 5, 2018 through January 31, 2019.
