The Northampton Arts Council is an organization whose goal is to support and promote the arts in Northampton. Originally created as a Local Arts Lottery Council, it began its work by administering a grants program in which proceeds from a state lottery are distributed to local artists, arts groups, and public schools.

BODIES IN MOTION FESTIVAL presented by A.P.E.@Hawley

PERFORMANCES • WORKSHOPS • CLASSES

Week two features Xan Burley + Alex Springer, former performers with the NYC-based company Doug Varone and Dancers, now in the graduate program at Smith College.  The Sundays at 5 series on January 20 will feature a showing of new works by Lailye Weidman and Doug LeCours—two young artists actively performing on both coasts.

JANUARY 15: 
7PM   FILM SCREENING Historic Northampton presents "Vision of Thornes" + conversation about creativity and community.  SOLD OUT.   Additional screening is being planned.

JANUARY 18:
10AM-NOON   INT/ADV CONTEMPORARY TECHNIQUE with Xan Burley, music by Will Owen
1-3PM   WORKSHOP Duet Repertory with Xan Burley + Alex Springer
6PM    INSTALLATION sound and video installation in lobby with Will Owen
7PM    PERFORMANCE with Xan Burley + Alex Springer, sound design by Will Owen

JANUARY 19: 
10AM-NOON   WORKSHOP Duet Repertory with Xan Burley + Alex Springer
1-4PM    WORKSHOP "First the body, then the words" with Rythea Lee *HELD AT SCDT!
6PM    INSTALLATION sound and video installation in lobby with Will Owen
7PM    PERFORMANCE with Xan Burley + Alex Springer, sound design by Will Owen

JANUARY 20:
5PM    SUNDAYS AT FIVE SERIES New Works performance with Lailye Weidman and Doug LeCours
