The Northampton Arts Council is an organization whose goal is to support and promote the arts in Northampton. Originally created as a Local Arts Lottery Council, it began its work by administering a grants program in which proceeds from a state lottery are distributed to local artists, arts groups, and public schools.

Stop Motion Competition!!

Submit a stop motion animation using anything you want!  Legos, StikBots, clay, toys - anything goes!  15 to 30 seconds (maximum time of 60 seconds).  A great family activity.  No prior animation experience needed! Every entry gets a small prize from A2Z Science!  Visit for examples, rules, and suggested Stop Motion apps to use.  Be creative and have fun.  Winning entries will be shown live on Friday before the movie “Kubo and the Two Strings”.  All part of the KidsBestFest Film Festival (a week of free movies put on by Northampton Arts Council at the Academy of Music Theatre - 11am Monday through Friday of school vacation week)!

Stop Motion Workshop at A2Z!
Stop by the A2Z Science on Saturday February 16th from 10am to 1pm and make a stop motion animation using supplies from the store!  Gabe Gill from the Arts Council will be on hand to give tips and tricks!
