Event on Friday, September 13, 2019.

The Downtown Northampton Association is looking for artists for its 10th Annual Chalk Art Festival to be held in downtown Northampton on Friday, September 13, 2019.

The Downtown Northampton Association invites submissions for the 10th Annual Northampton Chalk Art Festival, to be held in downtown Northampton on Friday, September 13, 2019. The Northampton Chalk Art Festival is a free, public festival that runs from 9am - 5pm on Friday, September 13, 2019, culminating in a display of completed chalk art drawings during that evening's Arts Night Out. There is no fee to participate, or to attend; all accepted artists will receive a stipend of $100 per completed chalk drawing.

Only non-oil based soft chalk/pastels in a solid form may be used. Your canvas will be a 5’x5’ section of cement located in downtown Northampton, primarily on Main Street. If all of the available 5’ x 5’ sections are assigned, you may be offered a site with a different configuration. Specific sites will be assigned at random, with 5' x 5' sections assigned first. You may work from 8 am until 4 pm. Entries will then be reviewed by a panel of judges, and three special prizes of $300, $200 and $100 will be awarded on the steps of City Hall at approximately 5pm.

Submission deadline is Friday, August 23. You will be contacted by Monday, August 26 to confirm entry into the festival.
