Northampton Jazz Workshop Featuring St. Petersburg, FL based trumpeter James Suggs

WHAT: Northampton Jazz Workshop Featuring St. Petersburg, FL based trumpeter James Suggs
WHEN: Tuesday, July 9th from 7:30 to 8:30 followed by the open jazz jam session.
WHERE: City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA

Our guest soloist this week has just released his first CD as a leader, “You’re Gonna Hear From Me“, and Tom Reney loves it. Tom suggested I get this guy up here if at all possible and it turns out James was willing to make the trip since he has friends in the area. It also turns out he and Jon Fisher used to work cruise ships together many years ago. Really looking forward to playing with him and here's an excerpt from his bio:
Throughout his career, James has had the distinct honor of playing with and learning from such musical legends as Kenny Burrell, Joanne Brakeen, Rufus Reid, John Fedchock, Maria Schneider, Sean Jones, Harold Danko, Kenny Werner, Marvin Stamm, Bob Mintzer, Billy Hart, Frank Foster, Allen Vizutti, Robin Eubanks, Jane Ira Bloom, Eric Alexander, John Clayton, Chuck Mangione, John Lamb and Bob Brookmeyer among others.

The concert set starts at 7:30, followed immediately by the jam session until 10:30. $5 per person room charge for the concert set and donations to the band gratefully accepted. City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA. 413-584-4830
