Terrible Child, “Currency in the Time of Exile”

In conjunction with Northampton’s Arts Night Out, on May 13^th, UNITE will host a gallery reception for a Hartford based Art Co-operative called Terrible Child from 6-9pm.  Refreshments will be served.  The work will be on display and for sale during until June 8th.

The Terrible Child was established in 2010 as an artist co-op between Michael Keo and Matthew Lin. The pair met while organizing a conference that addressed hate crimes against Asian Americans. The work in Currency in the Time of Exile deals with their respective immigrant experience.

Michael Keo is second generation Cambodian American and a Kundiman Fellow. His poems have appeared in The Courtland Review, Shampoo, and Boxcar Poetry amongst others. His work is forthcoming in An Anthology of English Writing in Southeast Asia.

Matthew Lin is a first generation Taiwanese American. He is a Certified Professional Photographer that specializes in portraits.
