April 29th, 2009 The Northampton Arts Council will present LANDSCAPE: SCENE AND UNSEEN, a biennial juried exhibition of two and three-dimensional work and performance art at the Hosmer Art Gallery, and on the Forbes Library front lawn in October 2009. While landscape is often restricted to habitat, we also encourage what might be called “inscape”—a view into the artist’s interior environment. LANDSCAPE: SCENE AND UNSEEN invites artists from our region to show us their concept of landscape. Call for entry, application form and more information about LANDSCAPE: SCENE AND UNSEEN is available on the program page. Postmark deadline for submissions is August 3, 2009. The exhibition is open to artists living in Western Massachusetts. All two and three-dimensional media including painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture, printmaking, digital imaging, video and performing arts will be considered for LANDSCAPE: SCENE AND UNSEEN. Weather-friendly sculpture and installations will be displayed on the lawn of Forbes Library. The Hosmer Gallery offers a variety of display options, and a wide range of works can be exhibited in the gallery space. All work must have been produced within the last 3 years. So, take out your sketchpads and reveal the real Valley, please. Contact: Diane Porcella, nacads@comcast.net, 413-587-1300 |
