Pick It by Perry Huntoon

Northampton-based artist and '09 Smith College grad Perry Huntoon will be performing a live painting on a white picket fence in the window of UNITE, 202 Main St, Northampton, on Wednesday August 11th- Friday August 13th, from noon to 6PM each day.

Perry's paintings and drawings will be on display in UNITE from August 11th-Sept 8th.  The reception for the work will take place on Arts Night Out.

This three-day live painting on an eight-foot section of white picket fence is a purposeful action meant to question the intent of the structure itself.  

The painting will act to reveal these things through its explosive, jarringly vibrant nature typical of Perry's work.  Onlookers will be able to name their own price for the individual pickets, which will be disassembled upon completion of the painting.

This project is supported in part by a grant from the Northampton Arts Council.  The fence has been donated by Hadley Fence Co., Hadley, MA.
