The Performance Project Sat., April 30

Please join The Performance Project on Saturday, April 30th for "Ripple Effect," by the First Generation Youth Ensemble at the Northampton Center for the Arts at 7 pm. (appropriate for ages 12 and up)

 

"Ripple Effect," a new and developing piece by First Generation ensemble, is based on the personal narratives of the ensemble members' life stories. Through the use of poetry, movement, monologue and storytelling, the ensemble shares the strengths and struggles of their journeys, families and communities. "Ripple Effect" spans four languages and three continents.

 

The cast is composed of Devi Adhikari, Iyawna Burnett, Stickii Gadson, Gita Koirala, Jamari Manirakiza, Chiino Rios, Taja Wiggins, and  

Monique Wilson. The play is co-directed by Julie Lichtenberg, Julissa Rodriguez, Lesley Farlow, and Carla Wokczuk. The evening will be hosted by DJs Debora and Sid Ferreira and will feature musicians Jo Sallins, Julissa Lee Rodriguez, and I-Shea Shaikly.

 

First Generation arts and youth leadership program provides a platform for young adults, ages 15-22, to have a public voice in their community and beyond.

 

Northampton Center for the Arts, 17 New South Street, 3rd Floor, located on the corner of Main and New South streets.

 

Tickets are $15 (suggested donation) at the door.
