The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

MCC/LCC Fall Grant Info and Applications

Northampton, MA--Applications and newly revised guidelines are now available from the Northampton Arts Council for grants under the Massachusetts Cultural Council's Arts Lottery and Field Trip Grant program. The Northampton Arts Council will be distributing up to $9,080 of this state allocated grant money during this funding cycle in the following categories: dance, film/video, literature, mixed media, music, Field Trip Grant Program, schools, theater, and visual arts. Projects may start no earlier than January 1, 2013, and must be completed by December 30, 2013.
Applications and guidelines may be obtained via the Northampton Arts Council’s website at www.northamptonartscouncil.org. You can download guidelines and fill out the application as a PDF or microsoft word file (.doc) on a computer.

Completed applications should be brought or mailed to the Arts Council Office.  No late applications will be accepted and incomplete applications will not be considered.

Grant recipients are chosen on the basis of the quality of proposals and work presented; potential benefit to the community of funded work; and creative accomplishment and dedication. Funds are available on a reimbursement basis only.
PLEASE PROVIDE 15 COPIES OF YOUR APPLICATION AND ONE SET OF SUPPORT MATERIALS
Examples of support materials: images of previous, current, and future projects; flyers of previous. current, or future projects, a CD of music, a DVD of a performance, etc.
