The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

Fundraiser for Serious Play! Theatre Ensemble

John Sheldon, long-time Serious Play! collaborator and musician/composer extraordinaire, is presenting his newest work in Northampton for the first time, as a fundraiser for Serious Play! Theatre Ensemble.

"My Journey to the Center of the Earth," a dramatic monologue with music, written and performed by John Sheldon, is coming to A.P.E. Gallery, at 126 Main Street, Northampton, in November. Three evenings at 7:30 pm: Saturday, Nov 14 / Sunday, Nov 15 / Monday, Nov 16.
