The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

Transperformance 26: Labor Party! Music Benefit

Each year on the last Tuesday in August the Northampton Arts Council and the Parent Teacher Organizations of Northampton’s public school system join forces to raise funds for arts enrichment in the schools and the ArtsEZ grant program.

Once again, on Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 it’s time to celebrate our community and the arts with Transperformance 26: Labor Party! everyone's favorite benefit music festival at Pines Theater in Look Park. Local musicians will choose an artist that is related to a job, occupation, or type of work (Scroll down for Lineup.)
Performers are encouraged to impersonate the band or occupation from the bands that they Transperform. Local celebrities will host the event as characters from Office Space or The Office, Steve Jobs, Rosie the Riveter, and other notable work related characters. Come celebrate 26 years of bringing our community members together to support music and the arts!
