“Lotusing is a Verb”
[\ˈlō-təs-ing\]
- desires to grow, to wake up to true nature
- faces one's own light & shadow fearlessly
- blossoms it's heart in the mind, while rooted in earthy humanness
Inspired by eastern philosophy, and influenced by her middle-eastern immigrant family, Mona Shiber's visual language embeds archetype, symbol, and the written word. Her lotuses illustrate levels of human consciousness through the vail of psycho-spiritual centers known as the chakra system. It is there, that we are absent of any race, color, gender, class and cast. It is there that we are pure energy about to become. And it is there that we give birth to our reality.

“Lotusing is a Verb” features a collection of original mixed medium paintings, fabric scrolls, and giclee prints on metal panels. Many of these flowering images originally found their voice as large, carved, ceramic wall works which can be found at yoga and healing centers in the Valley and beyond.
