The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

Time traveling to the past or the future with Multi-Arts

WHAT: Time traveling to the past or the future with Multi-Arts
WHEN: Date: Saturday, June 2, 2018 2:00pm - 4:00pm
WHERE: Forbes Library Community Room, 20 West St., Northampton MA

Join us in a fun, engaging theatrical activity that inspires collaboration and discovery!

Who would you like to meet if you could travel to the past? Where would you like to explore if you could travel to the future? Work together to create a theatrical story that explores these questions in a new, exciting way!

Afterwards, enjoy our presentation of a journey to the 1840’s! When young Justine is sent back in time, she meets Angeline Palmer, a brave African American girl who was saved from slavery with the help of the town. Learn the true story of Angeline and experience the roots of what makes our community such a unique place: our avant-garde spirit, celebration of differences, and ability to come together as a community to stand up for human rights.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Northampton Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency

Date: Saturday, June 2, 2018
