Northampton Jazz Workshop features NYC trumpeter Joe Magnarelli

WHAT: Northampton Jazz Workshop features NYC trumpeter Joe Magnarelli
WHEN: Tuesday, July 3rd, 7:30 to 8:30PM followed by an open jazz jam session until 10:30 PM
WHERE: The City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St.  Northampton.

Joe Magnarelli is a master of the trumpet, has beautiful ideas and BIG ears (he listens and can play the moment so well and effortlessly it's wild). Joe has been one of the first call players in NYC for a while now and plays often with our friends Gary Smulyan and Grant Stewart and many others. We are no doubt in for a real treat. Joining Joe George and me will be drummer Peter Moutis from Exeter, NH. Peter is an old friend and a very special drummer and we are thrilled to have him filling in while Jon is out and about.

Also, a reminder that the Pioneer Valley Jazz Shares is gearing up for their new season and here is a link to their upcoming concerts.

And, the next Soundworks Gathering at the Flywheel in Easthampton is Thursday, July 5th.

Upcoming Guest Artists:

7/3 - Joe Magnarelli - trumpet with Peter Moutis on drums
7/10 - Sheryl Bailey - guitar with Claire Arenius on drums
7/17 - Erik Lawrence - sax and flute (Jon back on drums)
7/24 - Benny Sharoni- tenor
7/31 - Freddie Bryant - guitar

The concert set starts at 7:30, followed immediately by the jam session until 10:30. $5 per person room charge for the concert set. City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA. 413-584-4830
