The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

This Week @33 Hawley


WHAT: NCMC's High Definition in Concert
WHERE: Northampton Center for the Arts, 33 Hawley St., Northampton, MA
WHEN: Wednesday, June 13th, 7:30pm

High Definition, a vocal ensemble of the Northampton Community Music Center, presents its season finale. Under the direction of Catherine Kay,High Definition sings a cappella music for women’s voices of all genres. Its current set includes music spanning five centuries. From the sacred to political, jazz to folk, profound to irreverent, there is something for everyone in a High Definition program.

Donation at the door. Proceeds benefit the NCMC Scholarship Fund.

WHERE: Northampton Community Arts Trust, 33 Hawley St., Northampton MA
WHEN: Friday June 15 & Saturday June 16, 8:00pm

“THIS” is a continuation of a February 2018 project facilitated by Peter Schmitz that provides space and time at 33 Hawley Street for two informal showings of creative work by area artists. Highlighting artists whose work is rarely seen or artists who are known in different mediums other than movement performance work, “THIS” creates a platform for the development of new and ongoing work. 

Tickets:  $10 suggested donation at the door.
