The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

8th Annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser

The Friends of Forbes Library are happy to announce the 8th Annual Wine Tasting fundraiser. If if you are a wine aficionado or are just looking for a great way to kick off the Fall season, mark your calendar, call a friend or two, and join us at beautiful Forbes Library on Friday evening, September 28, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. for an evening of wine, food and conversation.

The event will feature over 100 wines both international and domestic, including local wineries, a special collection of sakes and dessert wines, and a few surprises. A remarkable variety of tasty hors d'oeuvres from area restaurants and food vendors will be served. There will be live jazz from the mezzanine, irresistible raffle prizes to take a chance on and a new silent auction!

Tickets at $30 each are on sale at the library, at Liquors 44 at 238 King Street, or online.

Free overflow parking will be available at the Smith College garage on West Street. The event is sponsored by the Friends of Forbes Library, Liquors 44, PeoplesBank, and Whalen Insurance. All proceeds from this event will benefit Forbes Library, including children's and young adult programs, our music and lecture series, museum passes, and the library's book and media fund.
