The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

Fifth annual Brattleboro-West Arts Fine Art and Craft Sale featuring original works: paintings, pastels, photography, botanical etchings, pottery, textiles, woodworking, jewelry, glass.

Among exhibitors offering fine art and craft for holiday purchase are those whose works have been on exhibit at Harvard University; at the Reynolds Fine Art Gallery in New Haven, CT; at National Aviary's Wings & Wildlife Show in Pittsburgh, PA and at the League of NH Craftsmen’s annual nine-day fair.  Other recognition garnered has been widespread from Artist’s Magazine, from the St. Augustine, in Ceramics Monthly, by the Vermont Studio Center, in works of non-fiction and in documentaries, among others.
