The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

Small Works Gallery 
Holiday Group Show

Gateway City Arts is proud to be a space that welcomes and encourages all kinds of art forms, and this winter we are thrilled to launch our Small Works Gallery! The Small Works Gallery will feature different artists monthly, and we will be kicking things off with an exhibit that will feature many different artists and mediums just in time for people to purchase art for the holidays.

The Small Works Gallery at Gateway City Arts is a space with limited display surface located in the lobby of the main building. It is suitable to present small size works of art such as drawings, paintings, prints, written poetry, and photography, or small sculptures, wall reliefs, mixed media, and craft objects. The SWG is open to the public during the hours of the Bistro (varies seasonally). Current hours will be listed on our website at

Criteria for the 2018 Holiday Group Show
- Only 1 piece of art submitted per artist
- Works must be no bigger than 12x12 inches
- Submission Fee is $10 (goes towards marketing and installation)
- Can be paid via cash or check made out to Gateway City Arts
- All works must be priced and with descriptions upon delivery
Gateway City Arts does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability,
marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. We do, however, reserve the right to select the artwork as we see fit
to meet our quality and artistic standards as well as our curatorial plans. Selected artists will also be invited to participate in our online and in house retail gallery which will offer the art objects to the public beyond the actual scheduled exhibit.
