The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

The VJC combines its two seasonal Emerging Artist concerts into one major event this year. The festival welcomes youthful audiences and performers through inclusive presentations, attractive pricing and Q&A sessions with the artists.

Friday, Nov. 2nd
Local youth ensembles will perform in numerous downtown venues as part of Brattleboro's monthly Gallery Walk night. Collaborators include area schools, BrattRock, Youth Services, the Boys and Girls Club, 118 Elliot, Echo, The Lounge and Strolling of the Heifers.

Saturday, Nov. 3rd
A full-day of showcases at the Jazz Center with college and high school ensembles performing on our stage. Each session will be followed by commentary from a panel of professional musicians. The late afternoon will include a Q and A session/clinic with members of our guest bands. The evening will conclude with a doubleheader concert featuring two exciting, up-and-coming youthful groups: Sonic Asylum, led by pianist Arcoiris Sandoval and King Klave, led by drummer, Amaury Acosta, both are from New York City.
