Thank you for participating in this spectacle either as audience and as performers.
Accumulation strives to invite people who love to dance the opportunity be seen on stage. It also offers an opportunity for an audience to witness a collective performative space.
8-10p: Live Music with John Cabán = Guitarist, composer, producer & teacher, John Cabán’s unique playing has graced performances and/or recordings with such diverse artists as – Galvanizer, Richard Bona, Art Neville, Bo Diddley, Gloria Gaynor, and many others. With roots deep in blues, experimental, funk/r&b, ambient and world music, a rich tonal palette & lyrical rhythmic feel combine to make his distinctive atmospheric guitar style blend with a wide variety of musical genres.
10p - 12a: DJ Hip SockiT = offers his heart opening soulful soundscapes that seamlessly weave music styles & cultures. A globally blended tapestry of beats, bumps, & baselines that penetrate to the marrow of your bones, spiraling around your undulating spine and unearthing your body. Instructions for the evening:
The evening begins at 8pm with a lit space and a live sound exploration. Audience is free to come at any point in the evening. As the performance continues, the accumulation increases and audience members who are ready to join (sitting designated seating) are invited into the performance space. Those who choose come as audience and not perform are welcome to enjoy the performance from that vantage.
Only those who want to perform and move to sit in the designating seating, will be invited to perform.
Eventually the stage is filled, and the space flows between those that want to enter the performance space and those that want to witness.
At about 10PM, the DJ merges with the live musician and eventually takes over the sound for the remainder of the evening. A collective dance party ensues - one that includes performative lighting and the sweet the residue of the performative part of the evening.
