The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

Grant Opportunities

Your organization might be eligible to apply for a Projects grant. Cultural Districts that do their own programming, and meet other eligibility requirements may apply, and organizations in the Cultural District may also apply.

The Mass Cultural Council’s Projects Program is accepting applications in our Projects grant program for grants for FY20. This program provides grants of $2,500 to support public programming in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences.

• Application deadline is May 1, 2019 at 11:59:59pm.
• Organizations that receive funding from Local Cultural Councils MAY apply to this program

Projects (and their expenses) must take place between June 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020 – a 13 month period. THIS IS A CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS.

• Organizations that work with a fiscal sponsor may apply to this program.
• Organizations that are not primarily cultural, but have cultural programming may apply (for example, social service organizations that have a cultural program)
• Organizations that receive funding as Portfolio or Gateway grantees are not eligible for this program
• Your Organization must have reported a minimum of $10,000 in cash expenses last year, and your project must have total expenses of at least $5,000
