The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

Saturday May 11, 2019 - Sunday May 12, 2019; 9:00 am - 6:00 pm both days

What:
The Northampton Public Arts Festival is a unique two-day event aimed at promoting public arts through live mural painting and street art workshops for youth. The festival will bring local and nationally recognized street artists and muralists to convene and create beautiful public art for the city of Northampton and the Pioneer Valley.
Saturday, May 11 (9am-6pm) - Dripped On Productions will run an open painting session to paint four mural cubes with eight selected artists. 2019 Northampton Public Arts Festival selected artists are:

Seymour Van Gogh
Grace Lang
Steph Burr
Peter Zierlein
Xile
Barrett Capistran
Haley McDevitt.

Two selected artists will paint one mural cube, two sides of each cube per artist. Dripped On Productions will also facilitate painting the fifth cube, a workshopping collaboration between Dripped On team member Jonathan Neville and various community members. Three scheduled workshops will take place at 10:00am, 12:00pm, and 3:00pm. Participation is on a first come, first serve basis. We will be accepting 20 participants per workshop, please email arts@northamptonma.gov to sign up in advance. Local Dj’s will be spinning vinyl from 12pm-5pm. Laughing Tomato Pizza will be on hand serving up hot pizza pies from 11am-5pm.

There will be local vendors of all sorts on site with many interesting trinkets from 11am-6pm. Vendors include:

Guayakí Yerba Mate will also be on hand with free samples.

Sunday, May 12 (9am-6pm) - Dripped On Productions will continue running the open painting session so the selected artists have a chance to put the finishing touches on their designs.
