The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

GREEN NEW EARTH DAY!


GREEN NEW EARTH DAY!

and everyday after that for the rest of humanities time on this planet!

Came Dance, March and attend the Forum about the GREEN NEW DEAL:
A resolution to save the planet and support all people as we rise sustainably with justice and equity!

2-5pm EARTH DANCE: music, flash mobs, rituals and street theater at First Churches front lawn and throughout Northampton!  Stephen Katz, Expandable Brass Band, Climate Healing Band, Radio Free Earth, MuZen Theater’s puppets, Been Around, Still Around dancers, Isadora Duncan dancers, stilt walkers, and you!

5pm: PEOPLE’S MARCH from First Churches to Northampton High School: Bring your signs, your bodies, your voices as we march in solidarity with the children of this earth who are on the front lines fighting for their future.

6pm: GREEN NEW DEAL FORUM!
Northampton High School auditorium. Video showing of Green New Deal document read by local community. Then  Students from the NHS Environmental Club and the Northampton Sunrise Hub will present the principles of the Green New Deal and question local political leaders.  Forum will address possibilities for the Green New Deal at all levels of our government.
