Northampton Jazz Workshop Featuring chromatic harmonica master Hendrik Meurkens

WHAT: Northampton Jazz Workshop Featuring chromatic harmonica master Hendrik Meurkens WHEN: Tuesday, April 23rd from 7:30 to 8:30, followed by the open jazz jam session
WHERE: City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA

One of our favorite people and players in the world returns on the 23rd, this time on harmonica only. He is also an incredible vibraphonist. If you haven't yet heard Hendrik Meurkens play the chromatic harp you will be in for a real treat. Based in NYC, Hendrik specializes in not only bop, ballads and standards but is also a master of Brazilian music and records often with his own Brazilian quartet. Hendrik tours regularly in the U.S., Europe, the Far East and Brazil and in fact, is now officially a member of the million mile club for air travel. We are fortunate he continues to make our Workshop one of his regular stops.

The concert set starts at 7:30, followed immediately by the jam session until 10:30. $5 per person room charge for the concert set and donations to the band gratefully accepted. City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA. 413-584-4830
