The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

Established in 2015, the Northampton Print and Book Fair was created to promote contemporary prints and publications, celebrating local talent while bringing regional artists and publishers to our community. Artists, independent publishers, and art collectives are invited to display and sell their work—including artists’ books, zines, chapbooks, mini-comics, screenprints, risographs, letterpress prints, etchings, photographs, photobooks, digital prints, and ephemera.

The NPBF is run by volunteers, sponsored in part by the Northampton Arts Council, and produced by Fugitive Arts. With generous support from Catlabs of JP, Small Oven Bakery, and the Mass Cultural Council Festivals program.
