WHAT: The Human Element film screening for Climate Preparedness Week
WHEN: Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 7 PM – 8:15 PM
WHERE: 33 Hawley St, Northampton, MA.

James Balog, a longtime photographer and explorer, has focused his career on the complex relationship between humans and nature. The Human Element is a documentary that explores the ever-changing and significant effects of the human race on an already fragile world.

In honor of Climate Preparedness Week (September 24-30) the City of Northampton, in collaboration with Northampton Open Media, the Northampton Arts Council, and Forbes Library present The Human Element.

We humans are a force of nature. At the same time human activities alter the basic elements of life – earth, air, water, and fire – those elements change human life.

In an arresting new documentary from the producers of RACING EXTINCTION, THE COVE and CHASING ICE, environmental photographer James Balog captures the lives of everyday Americans on the front lines of climate change. With rare compassion and heart, THE HUMAN ELEMENT inspires us to reevaluate our relationship with the natural world.
