The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

Attack Bear Press announces Rolling Call for Art at Canna Provisions Gallery

Attack Bear Press is proud to announce our newest partnership. Working with our neighbors, Canna Provisions, we are coordinating art for retail sale in a gallery space at Canna Provisions’ newest retail location at 380 Dwight St., Holyoke. Attack Bear Press and Canna Provisions are expecting 300 to 400 individuals visiting Canna Provisions, Holyoke and this is a great opportunity to get your work seen, and best yet, sold! The best part is that Attack Bear Press is not charging a gallery fee for any work sold! The artists will keep 100% of their sale. This is part of ABP, and Canna Provisions dedication to providing economic opportunities to artist in Holyoke and beyond.

Selected Artists work will hang for 12 weeks.

Please submit complete the form on this page to submit. Multiple submissions will be considered, however, each submission must be made individually. Submissions without form, or submission fee will not be considered.

ARTISTS MUST BE OVER 21 YEARS OF AGE.

Artwork can be no bigger than 36” x 36”. Attack Bear Press, or Canna Provisions does not take a commission from sold pieces. Attack Bear Press is the retailer for all art, Canna Provision will not provide retail assistance with any sale.

The deadline for submission is rolling, however, initial selections will be made in December, 2019. The fee is $10 for each submission.

ENTRY GUIDELINES AND RULES

ELIGIBILITY AND RESTRICTIONS: The competition is open to all artist, national and international, working in all media. All forms of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, graphics, etc. are eligible. Wall mounted works must not be taller than 36" no wider than 36". Wall mounted work must be ready to hang. Sculptures must fit through a 36" wide entry door.

EXHIBITION: Selected artists will be featured in a group exhibition at the Attack Bear Press Gallery space in Canna Provisions, Holyoke (380 Dwight St. Holyoke, MA) The exhibition will also be displayed on the Attack Bear Press website, and promoted on social media.

EXHIBITING TERMS: All works must be for sale. ABP or Canna Provisions does NOT take a commission on sales. Sale price to be determined by the artist. ARTISTS MUST BE OVER 21 YEARS OF AGE. All work must arrive ready to display, and be shipped or delivered at artist expense. Unsold work to be returned at artist expense.

ENTRY FEES: There is a $10 fee for each piece of artwork entered and helps to pay for administration and coordination of the gallery. Fees are non-refundable. Payments are due at time of entry by using the donation function on the submission page. To pay by check or money order contact Jason Montgomery at 860-214-6214.

IMAGE USE/COPYRIGHTS: Artists retain all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork. Digital images submitted with artist entry are for exhibition selection only and will be deleted after completion of the selection process. By submitting, artists selected to exhibit grant Attack Bear Press rights to use the selected image(s) on printed materials, social media, and the gallery web site for promotional purposes only. Attack Bear Press retains no copyrights to artists' work.

NOTIFICATION: Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance no later than 8 weeks after submission. Results will be posted on or before this date on our website. Notification will be made via email and by posting on the web page. All artists who provide a working email address will be notified by email, if no email is provided, artists will be notified via postal mail only if accepted to exhibit. Type our email address clearly, if a mistake is made you will not be notified.

PRIVACY POLICY: Artist contact information (address, telephone, etc.) is only held for the purposes of contacting selected artists and is not preserved in any database. Entry data and image files are deleted on the completion of the jury process. All artists will have the opportunity to opt out of future events and announcement email list when they receive their notification.
