Northampton Jazz Workshop Featuring alto saxophonist Kris Allen

WHAT: Northampton Jazz Workshop Featuring alto saxophonist Kris Allen
WHEN: Tuesday, January 28 from 7:30 to 8:30 followed by the open jazz jam session.
WHERE: City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA.

We are pleased to welcome back one of our regular favorites, alto saxophonist Kris Allen. Besides being an exciting player Kris is also a band leader, prolific composer and educator as head of the Williams College Jazz Program.

We are also happy to have Kris take part in our Workshop and Jazz Festival collaboration, the Elliot Ross Jazz Artists in the Schools program at Northampton High School. On Monday night he and the trio will teach a clinic at the high school and then do a school wide assembly performance along with some students on Tuesday morning.

And finally, please save this date: Sunday, April 5th will be the Northampton Jazz Festival "Jazz Brunch" featuring tenor saxophonist Houston Person with the Green Street Trio. This will be the festival's annual fundraiser to benefit the Davis Financial Group Jazz Artists In Schools Program and will also be a celebration of the Jazz Workshop's 10 anniversary. We are thrilled to once again share the stage with Houston for this event at the Delaney House in Holyoke. 11AM-2PM and tickets available soon and more on this to come.

The concert set starts at 7:30, followed immediately by the jam session until 10:30. $5 per person room charge for the concert set and donations to the band gratefully accepted. City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA. 413-584-4830
