The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

Touch The Sky: Art for Housing Weekly Raffle

WHAT: Weekly Art for Housing Raffle
WHEN: Available Until Drawing Date: January 23, 2021 at 10:05 pm EST

Funds raised will go to providing survival resources, micro loans and grants, tents, daily meals, medical resources, mental health resources, access to housing or job market, cosigners, support in navigating government/nonprofit systems, providing food for community dinners in Northampton, funds for a drop in center, and more as needed.

As a collective we believe there IS enough to go around in our community to ensure unhoused and housing insecure people can not only survive, but thrive.

We are so excited to continue a legacy of the arts truly supporting community connection, health and resiliency. We hope to not only create a fun and sustainable means to get quick cash to those with the least access to it, but to broaden and strengthen the network of connections in the arts community, keep ourselves reminded of the beautiful strength and heart-value of self expression through art for all, and get art circulating into all spaces and homes at accessible prices as well.

Respect, reciprocity, solidarity over charity, and care for all!

Touch The Sky (formerly PV Housing Now)

We are a network of organizers, unhoused people, workers, students, and artists dedicated to mobilizing resources in the upper valley. The initiatives we work on grow out of the direct requests and knowledge from unhoused people, with the understanding that unhoused and housing insecure people can and must lead the fight to end houselessness and poverty. With this understanding, we act as a conduit to mobilize and share resources in the Western Massachusetts upper valley with our unhoused community. We understand that in order for unhoused people to continue leading this fight, we must supply and mobilize the materials, time and resources to get basic needs met, find housing and jobs, and secure other survival needs in the simultaneous work towards long-term structural change and housing for all.
