The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

Call for Art at The Bloomery


Call for Proposals
Proposals from artists to exhibit month-long shows of small- to mid-scale visual works at THE BLOOMERY, a new small gallery and meeting place located in downtown Northampton.

Each exhibition will be debuted with an OPENING RECEPTION during ARTS NIGHT OUT Northampton (2nd Friday of the month). PRIVATE VIEWINGS will also be available by appointment. Please Note: THE BLOOMERY is not a public venue, but a small, private gallery and meeting place within a suite of working artists' studios inside the Old School Commons (17 New South Street). It is on the second floor, accessible via stairs or elevator.

Gallery Details
-Art must be able to be mounted on a wall (8ft talll x 12 ft wide) or be freestanding. Any pedestals or easels must be approved for accessibility.
-Exhibitions can hang for up to 1 month.
-There is no fee to exhibit.
-We will promote shows.
-We will help hang/display shows.
-Pricing info may be displayed with art. All sales must be handled by the artist.
-A digital event will be held if COVID or other public health conditions forbid in-person gatherings.
