The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants twice each year to artists and arts groups from both state and locally-raised funds, and seeks to improve public awareness of the arts. Its' goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming such annual events of interest to the community as First Night Northampton and Transperformance.

KidsBestFest 2023



KidsBestFest is brought to you in part by Northampton Open Media and A2Z Science and Learning Store

WHAT: KidsBestFest is a movie festival for kids and adults with free admission held during the spring school break at the Academy of Music Theatre. KidsBestFest is a part of the Four Sundays series. We kick off the free movie festival on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM, with doors open at 10:30 AM.

After the kingdom of Arendelle is cast into eternal winter by the powerful Snow Queen Elsa, her sprightly sister Anna teams up with a rough-hewn mountaineer named Kristoff and his trusty reindeer Sven to break the icy spell. Based on "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Andersen. PG, 108 min.

After being separated from his family, a young pig befriends his fellow farm animals and learns to be a useful member of the farm by herding sheep, all in an effort to save himself from ending up on someone's dinner plate. G, 91 min.

A lonely boy befriends a homesick alien stranded on Earth and attempts to help him find a way home. Meanwhile, a group of government scientists attempt to capture the benevolent visitor for research. Won Oscars for sound, visual effects and score. PG, 115 min.



Thursday, 4/20, at 11:00 AM, with doors open at 10:30 AM - Back to the Future (1985)



An eccentric scientist builds a time machine, which accidentally transports a high-school student back to the 1950s, where the teen inadvertently interferes with the budding romance between his future parents. The boy must figure out how to set things right, or risk completely altering the future. PG, 116 min.

The mean, green fighting machines make their pizza-loving big-screen debut in this live-action blockbuster family smash. PG, 93 min.
