Calling all artists, educators, producers, and cultural organizations!

The Northampton Arts Council’s Local Cultural Council (LCC) grant cycle is open. We fund public-facing arts and cultural projects that benefit Northampton, Florence, and Leeds. If you’ve been dreaming up a concert, mural, workshop, film screening, zine fair, or school residency—this is for you.

Creative youth programs and school partnerships

Festivals, performances, exhibits, readings, film/media, and community workshops

Projects that expand cultural access and reflect our community’s diversity

Tips for a strong application

Make it public: Explain who can attend/participate in Northampton, Florence, or Leeds.

Access matters: Plan for accessibility (location, pricing, language, ADA, sensory needs).

Partners help: Letters or emails of support strengthen proposals.

Budget clearly: Show how funds will be used and list other support, if any.

Equity & inclusion: Share how your project reaches underrepresented communities.

The Northampton Arts Council works to support and nurture the arts in the city of Northampton. The Council awards grants to artists and arts groups, utilizing both state and locally raised funds, and seeks to enhance public awareness of the arts. Its goals include maintaining and preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Northampton, programming annual events of interest to the community such as First Night Northampton, Salsa in the Park, Transformance, the Silver Chord Bowl, and advocating on behalf of the arts community, among other initiatives.
