As the calendar turns, the Northampton Arts Council is thrilled to welcome neighbors, visitors, and artists of all ages to First Night Northampton 2027 on Thursday, December 31, 2026!
For over four decades, First Night Northampton has stood as Western Massachusetts’ premier alcohol-free, family-friendly celebration of the arts. Downtown will once again burst with vitality across dozens of walkable venues—from historic churches and municipal spaces to theaters, galleries, and community halls.
Whether you come for the afternoon family entertainment, breathtaking fireworks, evening concerts, or the midnight countdown, First Night 2027 is your canvas to make unforgettable memories.
What to Expect at First Night 2027
Diverse Performances: Over 100 performances across multiple genres—indie rock, traditional folk, classical ensembles, jazz, hip hop, storytelling, puppet theater, dance troupes, and circus arts.
Signature Fireworks: Spectacular pyrotechnics illuminating downtown Northampton.
All-Access Button: One low-cost admission button unlocks entry to all venues all day and night.
Community-Centered: 100% of event proceeds directly fund local arts grants, scholarships, and cultural programs supported by the Northampton Arts Council.
