Instrument Petting Zoo Open House at NCMC – Tuesday, August 26

Northampton Community Music Center (NCMC) invites the public to a fun and musical afternoon at our second annual Instrument Petting Zoo Open House on Tuesday, August 26, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at our home on 139 South Street in Northampton.

This free event is presented in collaboration with JFK Middle School Band Director Shelby Serio, who encourages incoming middle school students to explore, hear, and choose an instrument to play in the school band.

What to Expect

  • Meet our faculty and try out string, brass, woodwind, percussion, piano, and guitar instruments

  • Learn how instruments work and how they sound

  • Enjoy refreshments and a chance to explore our beautiful building

  • All ages welcome!

Programs for All Ages

Adults 50+

Curious about learning an instrument later in life? Come chat with Nancy Janoson, Director of our New Horizons Band, a concert band program for adults with little-to-no prior musical training.

Families with Young Children

Bring your little ones (ages 0–5) to learn about Music Together, our early childhood music program that builds a foundation for lifelong learning and musical joy.
