“Art of Licensing” with Allison Cole
Wednesday, May 6, 2026 | 12:00-1:30PM
Participants will learn about the industry of surface design and art licensing, and discover how artists can get their designs on a wide variety of products by partnering with different companies. Best suited for visual artists. 30 participants max.
“Understanding an Artist’s Personal Finances” with Amy Smith + Akeem Davis
Mondays + Wednesdays, May 11, 13, 18 + 20, 2026 | 6-8PM
Over the course of four sessions, this workshop will demystify concepts and introduce fundamental financial tools to help participants—including those who “hate thinking about money”—make informed financial decisions for their long-term futures. This workshop is suitable for artists of all disciplines. 40 participants max.
“Portfolio Power / The Artist Portfolio” with Anabel Vázquez Rodríguez
Thursday, May 28, 2026 | 12:30-2:30PM
Participants will learn best practices for creating and presenting a portfolio that makes a lasting impression while being accessible. Suitable for artists in all disciplines (although most examples will be based in the visual and performing arts fields). 30 participants max.
“Beyond Arts Grants: Creative Solutions for Project Support”
with Yara Liceaga-Rojas
Thursdays, June 11 + 18, 2026 | 12:15-2:15PM
After this introductory-level workshop, participants will better understand how they can define the work they are already doing as a fundable project, how to talk about that work with stakeholders, how to integrate care practices when developing a project, and tips for securing the necessary funding. Suitable for artists of all disciplines. 25 participants max.
“Essentials of Digital Marketing” with Francesca Olsen
Wednesday, June 24, 2026 | 12:30-2:30PM
Francesca will cover the basics of digital marketing for artists, including the importance of branding, audience building, effective social media, SEO optimization and website best practices. Suitable for all artists who already have a basic understanding of social media.
“Resource Mapping for Individual Artists” with Ana Tinajero

Participants will begin by surfacing the resources already at their disposal in their larger personal networks and then outline the pathways to reach the resources not yet secured. Best suited for artists of all disciplines interested in or already engaging with their larger creative community. 30 participants max.
“Radiant Thriving: Bold Writing for Boundless Artists”
with Doctora Xingona Diana Alvarez

Participants will practice developing a radiant, bold, unapologetic writing voice that centers their values and identities. Artists will build individual language styles to align with their unique arts practice. Suitable for artists of all disciplines. 25 participants max.

Artist Jules Jones with ValleyCreates Program Officer Stephanie Reyes and Program Advisor I-Shea.
Applications are currently open for our next ValleyCreates Capacity-Building cohort for artists who live or work in Hampden, Hampden, and Franklin Counties. This program is offered as part of an ongoing partnership with The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts that has allowed us to connect with and support more than 100 artists in the Pioneer Valley.
Applications close Monday, April 20 at noon.
Applications Open Soon for Our First-Ever Greater Hartford Capacity-Building Cohort w/ Project Grant Support
This pilot program combines A4A’s Capacity-Building program with a project grant to provide financial and professional development support over a ten-month arc. It is designed for artists who are committed to their creative practice and have previously completed at least one project from start to finish.
Serving 10 Greater Hartford-based artists, this program is funded by the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation.

Mass Cultural Council Creative Experiences Grant Application Is Currently Open
The Creative Experiences opportunity provides grants to organizations, creative businesses, government entities, and schools in Massachusetts to fund festivals, projects, residencies, and other cultural activities in the arts, humanities, and sciences.
The program provides one-year grants of $2,500 or $5,000 to fund activities taking place between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027.

Vermont Arts Council Arts Project Grant Application is Currently Open
Arts Project Grants support community-based projects that provide equal and abundant access to the arts in Vermont. 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, municipalities, and educational institutions may apply.
Grant amounts range from $1,000 to $5,000.
