Northampton Arts Council Unveils New Micro-Grant Model for ArtsEZ 2026 Spring Round

The Northampton Arts Council is proud to announce a transformative update to its community funding with the launch of the ArtsEZ 2026 Spring Grant Round. Applications are officially open as of today, April 16, 2026, with a submission deadline of Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
A New Vision for 2026: The Micro-Grant Model
This year, the Council is pivoting to a high-impact Micro-Grant model designed to support a broader, more diverse range of community projects. The Council will award 15 micro-grants at a flat rate of $500 each. This shift aims to lower barriers for new applicants and provide streamlined, accessible funding for artists and cultural programmers in Northampton, Florence, and Leeds.
Expanded Eligibility and Inclusion
Reflecting the Council’s commitment to equity, the 2026 guidelines include enhanced priorities:
Diverse Perspectives: Special consideration will be given to first-time applicants and projects centering underrepresented identities and BIPOC perspectives.
Broad Participation: Funding is available to individual artists, non-profits, for-profit entities providing public benefit, and public/municipal government entities.
Accessibility First: The Council prioritizes projects held in accessible spaces and those offering free or discounted admission to ensure all community members can participate.
Funding Categories and Impact
Proceeds from signature events—including The Silver Chord Bowl, Transformance, and First Night Northampton—directly fund these grants. Support is available for projects in Dance, Literature, Media, Multidisciplinary, Music, Theater, and Visual Arts. Proposed projects must take place between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027.

The application process is entirely online. Applicants are required to submit a project narrative, a budget, and supplemental materials such as work samples or letters of venue commitment.
