Silent Disco Studio Hour

Silent Disco Studio Hour
IMMERSIVE ART-MAKING EVENT

What is a Silent Disco Studio Hour?
An intimate incubator for creative experimentation – to reconnect with a past studio practice, to try a new medium in a supportive space, to retrain our brains to believe in process over product, to be in community and shared space without any of the expected small talk, to awaken the dormant artist in all of us. Because it just hits different to be together in real life.
This particular iteration of Silent Disco Studio Hour is designed as a companion to the artwork which is currently on exhibit in the Split Level Gallery at 33 Hawley Street: …we were always beautiful… by Rebecca Alexandra Herskovitz. As such, participants will be guided to utilize the art in the gallery as a “jumping off point,” allowing us to channel something through visual art that may be buried inside, an inner sense or knowledge that is usually obscured by our society’s focus on product, emphasis on linearity, and the confines of language.

Where: 33 Hawley Street (Courtyard Level)
Who: Hosted by artist and educator Rebecca Alexandra Herskovitz
When: Wednesday, March 11th at 6:00-7:00pm
