Empowering the Next Generation: The J. Scott Brandon Grant Fund
The heart of The Bow Bow Bash is the J. Scott Brandon (JSB) Grant Fund. Established to honor the legacy of J. Scott Brandon, this fund is a vital resource for student musicians at JFK Middle School and Northampton High School.
Removing Barriers, Creating Opportunities
For many, the cost of instruments, supplies, and private instruction can be a significant obstacle to participation in our school’s prestigious music programs. The JSB Fund bridges this gap by providing:
Private Music Lessons: Students receive weekly instruction at local institutions like Downtown Sounds or the Northampton Community Music Center.
Essential Supplies: Funding for instruments and the unexpected costs of maintenance.
Expanded Horizons: The fund has expanded to include music class field trips, allowing students to experience professional performances and educational excursions that provide deep inspiration and cultural context to their studies.
A Community Effort
Our local educators identify students who will benefit most from this support, ensuring that talent and passion—not financial resources—define a student’s musical future. Every ticket purchased for tonight’s bash goes directly toward these scholarships.
