Join us on Sunday, Apr 28, 2024, at 33 Hawley Street Northampton for an exciting journey through the roots of Salsa music, culture, and history. Get ready to dance and learn from the best in the business as DJ Bongohead and Banda Criolla guide us with rhythm, harmony, and storytelling from Salsa’s Cuban, Puerto Rican, Caribbean, and Latin American origins to its explosion as a unifying cultural force in 1960s/70s New York City to the worldwide movement it is today.

Pablo E. Yglesias, aka DJ Bongohead, kicks off the event with a vinyl set and visual projections, paired with his deep knowledge of Salsa and global music movements. Next, Jose Gonzalez and Banda Criolla take the stage for a high-energy live set of Latin dance rhythms in celebration of the musical styles of Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Latin America.

You will not want to miss this unique presentation as we turn up the heat and dance in the spring in preparation for our 2024 Salsa in the Park season!
